Dawes Arboretum - Ohio 13, three miles north of I-70.
Pruning Practicum: Pruning Conifers - Saturday July 11, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., $15/$10 members. Reservation required, at the Visitors Center. The class will take a ride with Arboretum Curator of Conifers Jeff Bowman to the Conifer Glen for outdoor work. This will be a very hands-on class featuring the proper methods for pruning different conifers in the landscape.
Night Hike- Friday, July 17, 9 p.m. - 11 p.m. Free, meet at the Visitors Center Deck. Experience The Arboretum at night! Kids and adults are welcome to attend the hike through collections, woodlands and trails on one of our most popular programs.

Pancake Breakfast - Thurston. The Thurston-Walnut Township Fire Department holds its monthly pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 18 at 8474 High Street.Suggested donations are $5 for adults and $3 for children. The menu is: sausage, pancakes, eggs, sausage gravy, biscuits, orange juice, coffee, tea, and milk. Carry-out orders are welcomed: call 740-862-6542. Firefighters will answer your questions about smoke/CO detectors, blood pressure, diabetic sugar checks, medication lists, and others. They will also be taking orders for T-shirts and reflective address signs, which aid the firefighters in locating you in the event of an emergency.
Giant Garage Sale & Raffle - Pataskala. Licking County United Way is the beneficiary of a charity garage sale and raffle on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11, at Henkels and McCoy, an engineering and construction firm, at 13338 E. Licking County Historical Society Annual Membership Dinner - Newark. The public is invited to attend the Annual Membership Dinner at 6 p.m. on Friday July 17, at the Buckingham Meeting House located in Veterans' Park. This annual event celebrates the people, places, and activities of the Licking County Historical Society. This year's program will be "Ghost Towns of Licking County", presented by Rich Niccum of the Licking Park District. Cost: $20/ LCHS Members, $22/ Non-Members. Reservation deadline is July 16. Goodguys 12th PPG Nationals - Columbus and Hebron. The Ohio Expo Center will look like a scene out of American Graffiti as over 6,000 hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars & tricked out trucks from all over the US and Canada converge for the Goodguys 12th PPG Nationals, Friday - Sunday, July 10-12. In addition to giant show n' shine, the event features over 300 commercial and vendor exhibits, swap meet, arts & crafts, nostalgia entertainment by Center Stage, hot rod "how to" seminars, model & pedal car show, special vehicle parking areas on Saturday, arts & crafts, and fun for the entire family. On Friday night, National Trail Raceway roarz to life with the Goodguys Friday night drags. Gates open at 2 pm, , time trials at 4 pm and eliminations will start at 7 pm. Tickets are available at National Trail Raceway. Gates at the 12th PPG Nationals are open Friday, July 10 from 8 am to 5 pm, Saturday, July 11 from 8 am to 5 pm and Sunday, July 12 from 8 am to 3 pm. Summer Reading Celebration - Buckeye Lake. Children in grades K-6 are invited to the Buckeye Lake Library on Wednesday, July 15th at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate the success of our summer reading program. Crooksville-Roseville Pottery Festival 5-K race and onemile walk - Roseville. The race will start and finish in Roseville Village Park at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 18. Pre-registration is $15 and on-site registration is $20. All participants will receive a race T-shirt. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each of the eight age groups. Jazz in the Garden and Music in Our Garden - Columbus Art Museum, Columbus. On selected Sunday afternoons this summer, the Museum's beautiful Russell Page Sculpture Garden will come alive with the sound of music - from classical and chamber, to modern and jazz. Adult admission is $10 per person. Those 18 years and younger are free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder. Tickets are available at thegate.
