HEBRON - Hebron's first ever Fun Day for Special Olympics raised $570 for the local powerlifting team.

Kroger and Hebron officials quickly organized the event to coincide with the Ohio Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The torch, escorted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and carried by members of the Licking County Sheriff's Office, was one of four heading from the corners of the state to the opening ceremony last Friday at OSU's Jesse Ownes Memorial Stadium. The Southeast leg of the run came through Hebron.

Kroger provided hot dogs and drinks. Several local good sports, including Village Admistrator Mike McFarland and Lakewood Coach-of-the- Year Criss Nadolson provided the entertainment as they were repeatedly dunked in the ice cold water.
