More BLASST information

Editor:

Big Band Boom and All That Jazz is the theme for this year's 4th of July celebration. The BLASST has designed special T-shirts for this year's event and they will be an excellent addition to your collection as well as a way to show your support for this annual spectacular tradition.

This year's theme was chosen to celebrate the big bands that once attracted thousands to the Crystal Ballroom. It was also selected to promote the Big Band Dinner Dance being sponsored by the Civic Association on October 3rd.

This will be another big year for activities around the lake, most of which will be coordinated and conducted by volunteers [your neighbors and friends]. Do your part and get your BLASST T-shirts early and be an active part of all of the action around the lake.

The Buckeye Lake Star Spangled Tradition is totally sponsored and paid for by donations. This is one of the rare 4th of July fireworks celebrations that is not conducted and paid for by a government entity or sponsored by a corporation. You should take enormous pride in this event and be thankful that we have neighbors who are willing to devote the time necessary to bring this magnificent fireworks display to our shoreline.

The fireworks will be launched from Fairfield Beach on Friday night, July 3rd, and the boat parade will be Saturday, the 4th, starting at Liebs Island at noon.
