A funeral service for Willard Walser, 92, of Pleasantville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home, 56 S. Main St., Thornville, with Pastor Doug Lynn officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville.
Willard entered into eternal peace Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at Heartland Fairfield Nursing Home, Pleasantville. He was born Aug. 12, 1916, in Thornville, to the late James and Emma (Clark) Walser. He was a past member of Thornville Methodist Church; loved spending time with his family, fishing, woodworking and trains; loved to garden and watch birds; was an animal lover and a Thorn Township trustee for 17 years; and had a great appreciation for nature and beautiful sunsets.
Willard is survived by children, Gayle (Don) Love, of Millersport, Norman (Kitty) Walser, of Thornville, and Jenny (Brad) Markwood, of Pleasantville; grandchildren, Greg Love, T.J. Walser, Brandon Love, Travis Markwood and Jon Markwood; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Carrie E. (Peters) Walser, in 2007; sisters, Gladys Walser and Hazel Cooperrider; and brother, Wayne Walser.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
