New nursing facility opens near lake

THORNVILLE - A new multi-million dollar nursing and rehabilitation center recently opened on Zion Road just north of Thornville.

Autumn At The Lake is the seventh facility owned and operated by privately held Autumn Health Care. The Newark-based corporation owns facilities in Newark, Somerset, Zanesville, Coshocton, Cambridge and Mount Vernon.

The 50-bed nursing and rehabilitation center includes a distinctive 70-foot fully functional lighthouse. It acts as a guiding beacon for those who need assistance, administrator Brandy Lawson said.

The spacious facility includes a Main Street complete with a dining room, barbershop/beauty salon, bank, library, movie theater/ chapel and cafe. There is also a play area for grandchildren. The semi-private rooms feature a floor to ceiling wall, partially dividing the room to maximize patient and family privacy. Each room is equipped with a shower.

Autumn At The Lake currently employs 35 and employment will likely reach 70 as it reaches full census. Private pay and Medicare/Medicaid patients are accepted. For more information, call (740) 246-5253.
