Sondra Kay Whitt

A funeral service celebrating the life of Sondra Kay Whitt, 63, of Pataskala, was January 6, 2009, at the Barnett Road Baptist Church, Columbus, with Pastor Kevin Thomas as celebrant. Burial followed at Fletcher Chapel Cemetery, Millersport.

Sondra died January 1, 2009, at home, following an extended illness. She was born in Lancaster, on March 18, 1945, the daughter of James and Jean ( Moore) Spitler of Newark. She was a graduate of Millersport High School, Class of 1963,and later from Eastern Michigan University. Sondra practiced as an occupational therapist for many years at the Mt. Vernon Developmental Center.

Sondra was an active member of the Barnett Rd Baptist Church, Columbus; the Fletcher Chapel cemetery board, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Mayflower Descendants; and was an enthusiastic genealogist.

She is survived by her loving family: her parents;her husband, Bruce Whitt, whom she married on March 5, 1994; her sons, Greg (Lavina) Love of Byron, Mi., Hugh Love of Springfield, and Jesse Whitt of Mt. Sterling, her daughters, Alicia (George) Schlitz of Taylor, MI, and Rhonda (Scott) Sanford of Mt. Sterling; brother, David Spitler of Newark; sisters, Cindy Miller of Springfield and Jamie (Nestor) Hise of Orlando, Fl., and Billie (Jim) Beatty of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; several nephews; and a niece.
