A memorial service for Lucy Deirfield, 83, of Baltimore, will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Millersport.
A celebration of her life will immediately follow after the service at Millersport Lions Club.
Lucy passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Tuscany Gardens in Pataskala.
She was born June 13, 1925, in Greenup, Ky., to the late Joseph and Junie (May) Horn.
Lucy was an active member of the Millersport Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She had been a witness for 49 years. Lucy loved life and enjoyed making handmade quilts for friends and family. She also loved to play bid euchre, and was known to carry cards in her purse just in case she could get up a game. She will be fondly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by nine children, Louise (Robert) Napper of Baltimore, Jane (Robert) Hicks of Pataskala, Bill (Genevie) Deirfield of Greenup, Ky., Fred (Beverly) Deirfield of Baltimore, Ronald (Diane) Deirfield of Circleville, Donald (Lori) Deirfield of Baltimore, Jim (Lisa) Deirfield of Rushville, Tamma (Christopher) Stanley of Heath and Kathy (Jeremy) Shover of Baltimore; sisters, Josephine Barker and Nellie Hale of Danleyton, Ky.; brothers, Check Horn of Greenup, Ky. and John Horn of Wurtland, Ky.; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and four on the way; seven great-greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ellie Cross; and a brother, George Horn.
