Hazel J. Rambo

Graveside service for Hazel J. Rambo, 76, of Baltimore, was December 27, 2008, at Lutheran Reformed Cemetery in Thornville with Chaplin Karl Hartman officiating.

Hazel entered into eternal rest Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. Hazel was born June 20, 1932, in Pliny, W.Va., to the late William and Pearl May (Hall) Litchfield. She was raised in Ohio and retired in North Carolina, where she lived for 23 years. Hazel was a member of the Church of Christ. She loved making quilts, jewelry, helped the band boosters, where she was known as "Band Grandma" and made flags for the flag corps and was a member of the Amvets Auxiliary Post 51, Thornport.

Hazel is survived by daughters, Lisa (Dan) Smith, Beth (Tom Parker) Rambo, and Christina (Leon) Cunningham; sons-in-law, Jim Hartrum and Ken Carmack; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Leona Garey; and previous husband, Jerry (Marilyn) Rambo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughters, Terri Hartrum, Susan Allen and Jana Nicodemus; sisters, Donna Hamrick, Zelma Christy and Florence Hynus; and brothers, William Litchfield Jr., Pete Litchfield and Teddy Litchfield.
