James K. "Jim" Franklin

A funeral service for James K. "Jim" Franklin, 68, of Hebron, was December 27, 2008, at the Heawith Willy Cupples officiating. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery.

Mr. Franklin died Dec. 22, 2008, at Arlington Care Center. He was born Feb. 8, 1940, in Columbus to the late Robert and Mary Lou (Hunter) Franklin.

Mr. Franklin graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in horticulture. He was a member of the Alumni Association and enjoyed being a Buckeye. He was employed with Scioto Sales selling steel banding and was the former owner of the Paddle Wheel Bar in Buckeye Lake.

Jim was a very active, adventurous man who enjoyed running


in marathons, boating and playing pool and darts. He was a member of the Buckeye Lake Eagles and had been a Little League coach.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Cindy (Buchanan) Franklin; daughters, Lisa (Bill) Schweitzer, of Newark, Michelle McPeek, of Hebron, Dawn McPeek, of Newark, and Tracy McPeek, of Pennsylvania; son, Fredrick Baltzer, of Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren; brothers, Jeff (Judy) Franklin, of Dublin, and John (Jeannie) Franklin, of Florida; sister, Carol (Jon) Mercer, of Washington; and nieces and nephews.
