Cecil "Pud" Fisher

Cecil "Pud" Fisher, 86, of Baltimore, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at his residence.

Cecil was born April 11, 1922, in Rushville, to the late Lawrence

Obituaries and Theresa Spitler Fisher. Cecil was a member of the VFW Post 3761, Masonic Lodge 471 F&AM in Baltimore and Trinity United Church of Christ. Cecil was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shrine. Cecil served his country and protected our freedom by serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II in The Pacific Theater as a member of the 63rd SeaBees. He was a graduate of Liberty Union High School, Class of 1940. He retired as a foreman at Crown Zellerbach, "The Paper Mill" in Baltimore.

Cecil is survived by a daughter, Lynn (Steve) Campbell of Lancaster; a son, Craig Fisher of South Carolina; a son-in-law, Terry Dunlap of Canal Winchester; four grandchildren, Kristi (David) Huskey of Baltimore, Terry Dunlap Jr. of Canal Winchester, Debbie Poston of Lancaster and Chelly Campbell of New York, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Sermon, David Lee Poston, Joshua Dunlap and Jacob Dunlap; sister, Eileen Hochradel of Baltimore; sisters-in-law, Phyllis King of Millersport, Joan Smock of New Lexington and Norma Ortman of Thornville; family friend, Jim Deal of North Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maxine Mae "Peg" Lynn-Fisher, who passed away Oct. 14, 2006; a daughter, Carolyn Dunlap; stepmother, Ella Fisher; sister, LaDonna Laver; and a brother, Raymond Fisher.

Services were December 8, 2008, at Trinity United Church of Christ, Baltimore, with Pastor Jill Dunlap officiating. Burial followed at Basil Memorial Cemetery, with Baltimore local VFW Post 3761 conducting military honors.
