NEW LEXINGTON - Tech- Columbus and the Small Business Development Centers of Ohio (SBDC) will co-host an event titled "Capital Access 2008: Grow Your Business with TechStart" on Thursday, December 11, 2008, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Perry County Senior Center, 520 First Street, in New Lexington.

The free event is for local entrepreneurs in Perry and surrounding counties interested in learning more about how to fund a business or business idea. City and county officials, economic development professionals and financial advisors are also welcome to attend.

"Whether you are a business looking for a loan for working capital and equipment or a person with a high tech idea that needs funding, this session will help you navigate the world of investment, bank and government financing," said Will Indest, vice president of capital access and formation with TechColumbus.

The program will consist of an interactive panel of bank lenders discussing issues such as the bank's role in funding a business idea, how to attract investors, what is involved in writing a business plan, the purpose of collateral and how to prepare a start-up and existing business for funding.

Representatives from Tech- Columbus and the SBDC will speak about programs and capital available to tech-related start-ups and entrepreneurs through their respective program. In addition to the TechStart program, attendees will learn about other programs to meet their business start-up needs, including the Perry Chamber of Commerce, Grow Now Program, Ohio Small Business Administration, United States Department of Agriculture, the Buckeye Hill/ARC Revolving Loan Fund, CCDC/SBA 504 and USDA.
