Everyone is invited to Millersport's dedication ceremony and open house for its new regional water treatment plant. A brief dedication ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15. The open house, complete with tours and light refreshments, continues until 5:30 p.m. The plant can treat 700 gallons per minute and is designed to easily accommodate additional treatment capacity. The plant includes iron and manganese removal, an ion exchange softening system and chlorine disinfection. The $4.7 million facility will also be providing bulk treated water to the Village of Buckeye Lake for its first public water system. Construction was financed with low interest loans and grants from the Ohio Water Development Authority and the Ohio Public Works Commission. This photo was taken from the water tower, looking south to Deep Cut Road. Access to the new plant is off Refugee Road just west of the Millersport Municipal Building and Veterans' Park. Parking will be available at the municipal building and the park. Startup problems with discolored water have been resolved. The new plant has been supplying water to customers since early October.
