Dawes Arboretum - Ohio 13, three miles north of I-70.

Wetland Chronicles: Fall Migration Saturday, November 1, 8 - 10 a.m. Migratory birds winging their way south to wintering grounds may stop to rest and feed at the Dutch Fork Wetlands. Come explore this phenomenon while hiking the wetlands, $8/members free, reservation required, meet at the Dutch Fork Wetlands.

Bonsai for Kids- Saturday, November 1, 10 a.m. - noon. Let The Arboretum nurture your child's creativity through the art of bonsai. Often thought of as an "adults only" practice, bonsai is fun for kids too! Our Bonsai Curator, Keith Stevens, will encourage your child to create a unique perspective through various techniques. This class is for children ages 11 - 14, $30/$25 members, reservation required, Zand Education Center.

• Nov. 6 - Nature Tots: Whooo goes there?- Bring your tot out and learn more about the wonderful owls. Ohio Nature Education will lead tots on a fun journey through the world of owls, with a focus on those that call Ohio home. We'll even learn owl speak. Tots will get to see live birds and study skins. William C. Kraner Nature Center. 10 a.m.

• Nov. 7 - Art Show Opening Local artist Kathy Anderson will be featured artist. William C. Kraner Nature Center.

• Nov 11 - Join the Licking Park District and Ohio Nature Education at 1:00 p.m. at the William C. Kraner Nature Center for final program in the Homeschool Explorations series. Ohio Nature Education and Homeschool Explorers will determine if weather lore is fact or fiction while exploring how wild animals deal with the changing season. Through hands on activities Homeschool explorers will learn if animals can really predict the weather. Live animal ambassadors will also be in attendance.

Fall Story Times - Buckeye Lake. Fall Story Times at the Buckeye Lake Library are scheduled every Monday at 11:00 am through November 10th. Call (740) 928-0472 for more information.

Preschoolers Story Time - Hebron. Stories, games, songs and crafts are being planned for children ages 3-5 every Tuesday at 11 a.m. through November 11 at the Hebron Library. Call (740) 928-3923 for more information.

Tips for Tots - Thornport. Help brighten Christmas for area needy children on Friday, Nov. 1 at AMVETS POST 51 in Thornport. The fune starts at 7 p.m. Live auction. Calll (740) 467-3120 for more information or to donate auction items.

Pancake Breakfast - Thurston. The Thurston-Walnut Township Fire Department will hold a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the fire station. Donations accepted. Free blood pressure checks will be offered and the Thurston-Walnut Township Firefighters Association will be taking orders for address signs and T-shirts.

Hi-Lights 2008 - Hebron. The Lakewood Lancer Marching Band presents all the hits from their 2008 season. Two performances at 8 p.m. - Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at the Lakewood High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5 and are available by call 928-4496 or emailing tickets@ lancerband.net.
