Different opinions should be respected

Editor, I would like to address this letter to the person or persons who have twice vandalized my John McCain for President campaign sign. I have the utmost respect for those who differ in their philosophies and beliefs, and would certainly not disrespect those individuals by trespassing on their property and destroying their campaign signs.

I am an active duty soldier who has served two combat tours in Iraq, and I feel I have EARNED my right to vote for the persons who I feel are best for the jobs. What right do you have to enter my property and vandalize a sign because you may feel differently from I? fought for you and every other citizen of our country and state, and I findthese actions personally offensive.

I am very proud to say I am a resident of Thornville, a wonderful place to raise a family. Thornville takes care of its own, and I urge my fellow villagers to continue to do so regardless of political affiliations.

Army Specialist Timothy A. Rickey
