Creative kids highlight 2008 costume contest

BUCKEYE LAKE - This year the kids swept our contest with creativity and style, particularly our winner, Eddie Vacca of Buckeye Lake, who was dressed as a Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner. Right on track for second place was Victor Thompson of Fairfield Beach, dressed as Thomas the Train. Baltimore's Austin McClelland cracked third place as a highly original deviled egg.

For the adults, Buckeye Lake resident Toni McQuillen's snazzy blue gecko outfit "insured" her a first place win, and Jacksontown's Del Latham handily took second place in his very realistic pirate garb.

Congratulations to our winners, and we thank everyone who braved a chilly Tuesday night to participate in this year's contest.
