Wilkens endorsed for Clerk of Courts

Editor:

To all of the voters in Perry County.

I would like to ask each of you to vote for my son Chad Wilkins. He is running for the Clerk of Courts position. He takes his job seriously and would do a good job. He and his opponent have run a clean race, respecting each others ideals and opinions. I have seen him work hard to talk with people and hear their concerns.

But let's remember when we go to the polls and vote for all offices we should be thoughtful and take seriously this great responsibility to vote. Please remember it is not about how impressive a person is on the outside - it's what is on the inside that counts.

As we consider the candidates we cannot see their hearts. We must evaluate them by actions and words. Remember we need leaders who are wise and knowledgeable. How do we determine that? Do they exhibit a reverence? We should not consider a candidate by what it might benefit me materially.

As we vote in this great country of ours we should ponder in our own hearts and vote for what and who is best to continue to preserve the freedoms and rights as we know them and for all future generations to come.

Thank you!
