Arthur Ellsworth Walters
Arthur Ellsworth Walters, 82, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2008.
He was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Gallia County, to Charles E. and Kathleen Walters.
He is predeceased by his parents; wife, Emma (Idyell Williams) Walters; and son, Arthur Charles Walters.
He will be missed by daughter, Ruthann Idyell Bracey of Fairfield Beach; grandsons, Michael Scott Bracey of Oakwood and Brett Alan Bracey of Fairpark; granddaughter, Roxanne (Gierhart) Bailey of Reynoldsburg; great-granddaughters, Tiffany Jade and Brooke Nicole; stepson, Robert Gierhart; sisters, Kathryn Tuttle of Reynoldsburg and Nellie Ballard of Pikeville, Ky.; and brother, Kenneth Walters of Okeechobee, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews, along with his close friends, Vern Chadwick and Ray and Cindy Hillis.
Art grew up in Gallia County with nine brothers and sisters. He and Idyell raised their children and made a life together at Fairfield Beach. He retired from the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway after 39 years of service and spent the next few years at Merritt Island, Fla., only to return to Buckeye Ocean. Art's passions were family, friends and fishing. He was a proud Democrat, United Transportation Union member and a member of the Masonic Temple Alturas Lodge 537.
Arthur chose not to have a memorial service.
