Writer says Van Buren is unfit to run the county

Editor:

During a campaign it's difficult to know what is true and what is not. We want to make the right choice for our country and community.

The choice for one race won't be difficult for our family and friends who witnessed our nightmare when we hired Mark Van Buren to build our home. Voters have turned him down three times, yet the Democratic party chose to ignore voters and appointed him county commissioner.

He had no idea how to build a house, could not hire knowledgeable or dependable people and could not manage the money. Our attorney advised us not to make the last payment since he had not finished the job. We were told a lawsuit would be a long hard road and since he didn't own anything, we probably wouldn't get anything.

For health reasons, we didn't pursue it and have tried to fix things ourselves. Now several years later, many things still need fixed. Others have sued and we know of one for sure that he still hasn't paid. Is this why he doesn't own property?

Mark's website says he is concerned with the economy and keeping a close watch on the county's budget. I'm not sure how that will work when he can't run his own busines. We work too hard to turn our money over to someone who can't run his own busines. This is one race we need to vote for the person and not the party. We are voting for Brad Feightner.
