Barbers thank fundraiser supporters

Editor:

The 4th Annual Hunter Barber Fundraiser held on September 13th was yet again a huge success. Anyone who attended the fundraiser could tell you there was plenty food, fellowship, and fun.

The event started off by sending hundreds of balloons off to Hunter for his fifth birthday. The balloons were also sent off with the ringing of a bell in memory of other children who have been lost in our community. Alice Bondurant from Thurston United Methodist Church offered a few words to honor those loved ones.

The Southeastern Ohio Garden Tractor Pulling Club held a pulling event that afternoon with many spectators to cheer them on. There was a sea of children playing games, sack races, face painting, jumping in the bounce house, and enjoying the petting zoo. There were others participating in a corn hole tournament, dunking volunteers in a dunk tank, or just enjoying all the delicious food that so many people brought in for the event.

We would like to thank everyone who helped to make this event such a wonderful day. This year's fundraiser has raised over $10,000 for the Fairfield County Foundation. The money is earmarked for area fire departments and medical professionals who wish to continue their education or purchase equipment to provide better emergency medical care for children in our area.

Without the help of friends, family, and volunteers this event would not have been nearly as successful. It was truly wonderful to see so many people coming out to support this event that is so important to us. Thanks to everyone who donated, volunteered or attended. We are truly blessed to have such a great community where so many people are willing to support one another.

Watch for information coming for next year's event in September. We hope to see you there!
