George Delbert Burrows
George Delbert Burrows, 83, formerly of Baltimore, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at the Durham Virginia Medical Center in Durham, N.C.
Mr. Burrows worked at Gaylord Container Company in Baltimore.
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 3761 and a World War II veteran.
He is survived by four sons, George Burrows of Buckeye Lake, Fred Burrows of Roxboro, N.C., Bill Burrows of Apex, N.C. and Ron Burrows of Raleigh, N.C.; three half-sisters, Mary Neville of Thornville, Evadean Virginia Crandell of Thornville and Patricia Ann Owens of Newark; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Burrows' remains were cremated and will be scattered according to his wishes.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Oct. 12. at Helena United Methodist Church, 290 Helena-Moriah Road, Timberlake, N.C., 27583.
