Hunter Barber was a Thurston child who died suddenly at 18 months old from complications of pneumonia. His family has held a fundraising event each year around his birthday to remember this perfect little boy, and to continue to raise money for area firefighters/EMT's. The money is earmarked for personnel who want continue their training in pediatric care or to buy equipment that may help their departments care for children. Last year, nearly $11,000 was raised in his memory. Each year, more money has been raised than the year before.

All proceeds go to the Hunter James Barber Fund managed by the Fairfield County Foundation. Grant applications should be made to the Fairfield County Foundation.
