Beverly Jean (Scohy) Gibson

A funeral service for Beverly Jean (Scohy) Gibson, age 73, of Buckeye Lake, was held August 25, 2008, at the Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Tom Myers officiating. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery.

Mrs. Gibson, a homemaker, died August 21, 2008 at Arlington Care Center. She was born July 4, 1935, in West Liberty, Ohio to the late William Donald Dodson and the late Marjorie Lela (Kiser) Brown.

Mrs. Gibson was a 1952 graduate of East High School in Columbus. She was a member of the Rocky Fork First Church of God.

She is survived by four daughters, Yvonne (Mike) Berning of Laura, Ohio, Julie (Al) Olsen of White Plains, New York, Renee Scohy of Columbus and Alyce McFadden of Senecaville; stepsons, Chris (Candee) Gibson of Clarksburg and Jeff (Susan) Gibson of Bellaire; step-daughter, Robin (Chuck) Bursee of Martins Ferry; ten grandchildren including Frank Carmona of New York and Ian Scohy of Ohio; four stepgrandchildren; brother, D. William "Bill" Dodson of Buckeye Lake; two step-brothers, Joe and George Hanlon; aunt, Virginia Thompson of St. Paris; nephew, Billy Dodson of West Virginia; and two cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Leroy Gibson, on May 26, 1997; and by a son, Nestor Rick Scohy, in 1989; a daughter, Annette Scohy in 2004; a step-son, Mike Gibson, in 1984; a grandson, Kyle Scohy, in 1986; step-father, Harold Brown; and a step-granddaughter.
