A celebration of the life of Jessa (Muir) Cook, 38, of Glenford, will be at a later date.

Jessa died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Ohio State University Medical Center, after a brave nine-month battle with cancer. Jessa graduated from Newark Catholic High School and received a certificate in Early Childhood Development. She worked as a nurse aide at Chapel Grove Assisted Living Center and various tanning salons. She owned and operated her own business, Victory Candles, incorporating the slogan "Where there is light, darkness cannot exist."

Jessa is survived by her husband, Eric Cook; her son, Zachary Cook; her parents, John and Sara Stephens; her brother, JP Stephens; her sister-in-law, Kristi Stephens; and her nephews, Brock and Pierce Stephens.

Jessa was loved by all who met her. It was said that what she lacked in height, she made up for in heart. The way she confronted her illness was an inspiration to all, keeping the faith that made her strong. Jessa's love for life and selfless devotion to others made her a loving and special wife, mother, daughter and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
