One more letter: Thornville joining crackdown on impaired drivers
A nationwide crackdown on impaired driving is set to start August 15 to September 1. Anyone who is caught driving drunk will be arrested — no exceptions.
The Thornville Police Department will be joining with other police agencies across the country in response to this year's crackdown, known as "Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest." Motorists can expect to see an increase in patrols, traffic stops, and arrests during this campaign especially in evening and nighttime hours.
According to statistics from the Ohio State Patrol, 10 motorists have been killed in OVI related crashes in Perry County in the last two years with at least one being just outside the village limits this year. Please, don't drink and drive!
