Phyllis E. Fisher
Phyllis E. Fisher, 91, of Lancaster, formerly of Baltimore died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Fairfield Medical Center.
She was born on Aug. 31, 1916, to the late Lawson and Lela Sims. She graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College with a teaching degree. Phyllis was a life-long educator starting with a one room schoolhouse in West Virginia and finishing her career at Liberty Union Elementary School where she retired as a third-grade teacher. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Baltimore Senior Citizens, Delta Kappa Gamma, Baltimore Garden Club and Fairfield County Retired Teachers.
She is survived by her daughters, Sara (Frank) Baumholtz of Pearl City, Hawaii and Patty (Larry) Graves of Dublin; son, Gregory (Donna) Fisher of Baltimore; grandchildren, Dawn (Steve) Felder, Frank (Heather) Baumholtz, Megan Graves, Charles Fisher, William Fisher, Jonathan Fisher, Michael Fisher and Laura Fisher; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Sara Felder and Anna and Rachel Baumholtz; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth and Fred Layton of Clarksburg, W.Va., Barb and Gary Stamm of Baltimore, Howard and Ginger Fisher of Felicity; and many more nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Fisher; parents; and brothers, John and Frank Sims.
Services were August 12, 2008, at Trinity United Church of Christ with the Rev. Jill Dunlap officiating. Caring Cremation followed. A private burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Baltimore.
