Volunteers make Tour of Homes a success again
      Editor: Thank you to all who made the 2008 Tour of Homes another successful event for the Buckeye Lake Area Civic Association. There were 129 volunteers working as hostesses, dock workers, captains, 1st Mates, parkers and registration staff. A total of 32 pontoon boats transported over 760 visitors to the five homes featured on this year's Tour.

Walnut Township officials failed to protect residents
      Editor: We are writing to thank all the people who helped with the referendum petition on the Micro (Mock) property. The support we received from the people who signed the petitions was tremendous. Special thanks go to everyone who helped circulate the petitions. Your help made it so much easier.

Dumped pets don't survive
      Editor: Police reports (July 19th Beacon) indicate that Kirkersville Kops issued citations for speed but only a warning for an open container and speed on the 4th of July! On July 19th, 23 stops were made! If that officer worked an 8 hour shift, that's one stop about every 18 minutes excluding their lunch break!

Writer doesn't understand zoning rules
      Editor: In response to Mr. Budnick's letter posted in the Aug. 2 edition of the Beacon, I can only say that he truly does not understand township zoning. Referring to those who have moved to Liberty Township as "city dogs" and "city rejects" is very mean spirited.
