C-TEC hospitality teacher wins national award

NEWARK - Vicki Pressey, Hospitality and Tourism instructor at the Career and Technology Education Centers (C-TEC) of Licking County, recently received the 2008 Teacher of Excellence Award by the American Hotel and Lodging Association. Pressey was honored at the annual American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Kelly Jones, Director of Development at the Ohio Hotel and Lodging Association, nominated Pressey for the award. "Vicki has been instrumental in working with the association on updated legislation and developing the most appropriate and real-life experiences for her students," Jones said. "I am impressed by the quality and level of professionalism that she displays and instills in the future workforce of the hospitality industry."
