William W. Smith Jr.
A graveside service for William W. Smith Jr., 77, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Hebron Cemetery with Pastor Tom Myers officiating.
William passed away Monday, July 14, 2008, at Arlington Care Center in Newark. He was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Hebron to the late William W. and Frances K. (Dicky) Smith Sr.
He was a Kaiser Aluminum retiree. He served in the Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 285, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles of Buckeye Lake. William also enjoyed tinkering with his antique tractors, gardening and golfing. When he was younger, he liked to fish and hunt, and he loved his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen (Meier) Smith; children, Wayne, Dale, William "Snook," Kelly and Karen; sisters, Ann and Jo; brothers, Jim, George "Butch" and Don; grandchildren, Samantha, Kent, Joe, Ben, Jake, Brian, Lindsey, Casey and Cobe; and great-grandchildren, Cole, Sabrina, Olivia, Taylar, Brycen and Sydney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lorella "Sip" and Jackie.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home, 108 N. Seventh St., Hebron.
