Ronald O. Haworth
A celebration of life for Ronald O. Haworth, 70, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Mr. Haworth passed away Saturday, July 12, at Arlington Nursing Home. He was born March 14, 1938, in Hebron to the late Goodsel Haworth and Ellen (Moorehead) Haworth.
Ron spent most of his life in service to his country. He faithfully served in the United States Air Force as a mechanic during Vietnam and for many years afterward. He retired after 20 years of military service. He then worked for the 70/37 truck stop and also for Knoll Group Management. He was the kind of guy who worked hard and liked to have fun.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a longtime member of the Buckeye Lake and Newark Eagles.
Ron is survived by two daughters, Billie (Kevan) Cairns and Kathryn Haworth, both of Felixstowe Suffolk, England; son, Ronald O. (Veronda) Haworth Jr., of Newark; a sister, Carolyn (Don) Perry, of Buckeye Lake; grandchildren, Kevin Cox, Adrian Haworth and Ronnie Haworth; a niece; a nephew; and stepgrandson, William Wright.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Margaret Haworth.
