Christ United Methodist Church of Baltimore received more than $1,300 for it's "Sending Love Over There" project Sunday. Project volunteers sold $658 in posters, banners, hats, shirts and cutouts to Dale Earnhart Jr. fans when his No. 88 AMP visited Baltimore Market IGA Express. All the items were donated by Pepsi and Baltimore Market. Clarence Cardwell, Baltimore Market owner, then matched their sale revenue with a $658 donation. Volunteers are currently sending 10 boxes each week to area troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. More information is available from the church at (740) 862-4343. Beacon photo by Charles Prince.
