James A. Lamp

A funeral service celebrating the life of James A. Lamp. 89, of Harbor Hills, formerly of Pataskala, was June 24, 2008, in the chapel of Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial was at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.

Jim died late June 20, 2008, after an extended illness. He was born July 15, 1918, in Hebron, the son of the late Arthur and Mabel Lamp. He was a graduate of the Jacksontown High School Class of 1936. He served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard.

He owned his own construction business and built many fine homes throughout the area. He was a member of the AMVETS Post of Thornville, Buckeye Lake Eagles No. 2801, the Elks Lodge of Newark and Harbor Hills Country Club. He played scratch golf and was an eight-time club champion at Harbor Hills.

He is survived by his children: his daughter, Vicki (Ralph) Mangus, of Pickerington, and his son, Randall (Cathy) Lamp, of Nashville, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Corey Lamp and Angela Mangus; his brother, Bob, of Heath; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel; and his brother, Arnold.
