One more BLASST letter until the big show July 3
Well, this is the last letter in the Beacon before our July 3 celebration. As a side note, I want to share with you the funniest profound thing my friend Eric Ashton said to me. "Ohio has two seasons, winter and Fourth of July." That's just funny, I don't care who you are. God willing, maybe it won't rain on us this year. There is no doubt the air will be thick with humidity as usual. We have been pretty lucky with rain in the past.
I am sorry that our donation letters went out late. It was my fault. If it weren't for Marty pushing me, I might not get anything done. Thank God, she and Bud are on the team. They are my right and left arms. Now if only I could find someone to be my brain! Anyway, I want to thank you all for getting your donations in so quickly. It always makes signing the contract with Hamburg Fireworks a lot less stressful when we have money in our account.
I want to dedicate my volunteer service to the community this year to two of the finest people I've ever lost - Hooch Haynes and Chance Brockway. If you knew them, you know what I mean. If you didn't, you need to get more involved with your community. They were assets to humanity plain and simple. Missing them is an understatement.
We've got another great design by Scott Clark on the t-shirts and they are going fast. Check out his website if you get a chance at www.scottclarkillustration.com. Again, you can find BLASST t-Shirts at Pizza Cottage, T.C. Market, Harbor Hills Country Club, Buckeye Lake Marina, Cooper Penny, Millersport General Store, Millersport Hardware, Buckeye Lake Eagles, Island House and the Beachcomber.
There are no luminaries available this year. If you want flares, please order them from Millersport Hardware or Buckeye Lake Hardware.
Don't forget to bring a radio and tune in WKNO Kool Classics 101.7 for the simulcast during the show. This will be the first year I didn't pick the music, so I will get my very own surprise.
Bud, Marty and I want to give special thanks to the Buckeye Lake Moose Lodge 2434, Tim Cotterman of T.C. Market and the Beacon for going above and beyond for our community. As always, Eddie and Bev Hull, my fellow blonde, the Red Neck Women and their mates, and Julie Clemons are all un-replaceable, giving, community minded people we are blessed to have among us.
We of the BLASST wish each of you a safe and family oriented holiday. I am personally asking that you read the advertisement I have placed in this paper. Victoria Wolfe Co-Chair of BLASST
