James Eugene Kirk

A funeral service celebrating the life of James Eugene Kirk, 64, of Umatilla, Florida, formerly of Outville, will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Jacksontown.

Jim died early Tuesday morning at his home in Florida. He was born in Zanesville, on May 25, 1944, the son of the late Floyd and Rachel Wagner Kirk. He was a graduate of Lakewood High School Class of 1962.

Jim loved sports, golf, adored his family, especially his grandchildren and loved mowing his 10 acre lawn with his "Dixie Chopper".

He was a member of Hebron Lodge #116 F.& A.M., Eagon Chapter #123 Order of Eastern Star and attended the First Baptist Church in Umatilla.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife, the former Vivian Penick, whom he married on January 1, 1965; his children, Jennifer and Herb Crawford of Umatilla, Jeff and Khris Kirk of Hebron, Debbie and Eric Walker of Fairhope, Alabama; his grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph and Grace Kirk; his sister, Katharine (James) Schramm of Bettendorf, Iowa; his in-laws, Herb & Faun Penick of Hebron; several nieces and nephews; and his grandogs, "Duke" and"Ginger".

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at the funeral home, 285 E. Main St., Kirkersville, where Hebron Lodge #116 will hold Masonic Services at 5:45 p.m.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Umatilla. Florida, or to the American Cancer Society in his name.
