Evelyn Frances Carpenter
Evelyn Frances Carpenter, 80, of Thornville, departed this world on June 4, 2008, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Unit of Licking Memorial Hospital.
Evelyn was born April 4, 1928, in Millersport, to the late Roscoe and Blanche (Allen) Parrish. She was the devoted wife for nearly 58 years to Sherman "Bud," who passed away in 2004. Evelyn was an excellent seamstress, craftmaker and avid writer of poetry. She was the fun in any group activity and was a member of The Grannies Golf League and The Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her children, Sharyn (Don) Waugh, Mary (Tim) Daniel, Greg Carpenter, Lisa Carpenter and Sherman (Beth) Carpenter; sister, Jane Parson; and nearly 50 grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. They were the love of her life.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Carpenter; sisters, Marie Smith, Leota Jacoby and Ruth Lake; and brothers, Vincent and Vernon Parrish.
Services took place at June 9, 2008, at the Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home, Thornville, with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Internment was in Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster.
