Statia B. Gatliff

A funeral service celebrating the life of Statia B. Gatliff, 85, of Hebron, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with Pastor Wally McLoughlin as celebrant. Burial will be in Kirkersville Cemetery.

Statia died June 2, 2008, at Selma Markowitz Care Center after an extended illness. She was born May 10, 1923, in Clay County, Ky., the daughter of the late William and Idell Myers. She spent her early years in Hamilton, Ohio.

A lifelong homemaker, she was a former cook at the Village Tavern in Kirkersville, where she was loved by everyone who came in contact with her. She truly lived by the Golden Rule. She was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother. She attended the Nazarene church in earlier years.

She is survived by her loving family, which include her children, Kenneth (Kathy) Gatliff, Gail (Arnold) Zbinden, Gary (Jane) Gatliff, Edward (Beverly) Gatliff, Carl (Linda) Gatliff, Norma Welch and Kathy (Rick) Cunningham; her sisters, Ruby and Gracie; her 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 285 E. Main St., Kirkersville, where an online guest register and video tribute is available at www.hoskinsonfuneral. com.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Central Ohio, 2669 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055.
