37/79 intersection closes Monday, June 2
JACKSONTOWN - The Ohio Department of Transportation District 5 Deputy Director Don D. Barber P.E./P.S. announced May 28 that the intersection of Ohio 37 and Ohio 79, west of the Village of Buckeye Lake will close to all traffic at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 2.
The 21-day closure, weather permitting, is to construct a turn lane on southbound Ohio 37 and to upgrade the interchange. If weather cooperates, the intersection will reopen Monday, June 23.
Site preparation, including removal of a home at the corner began about a month ago. The contractor is Kokosing Construction Company of Fredericktown, Ohio.
The posted detours will be I-70, Ohio 158 (Kirkersville exit off I-70) and Ohio 204.
