Appliance, tire recycling day set for May 17

NEWARK - Want to get rid of old appliances or tires?

Bring up to Licking County Recycling and Litter Prevention's Appliance and Tire Recycling Day on Saturday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Licking County Highway Garage at 775 E. Main St.

You can bring washers/dryers, stoves, refrigerators/freezers, dishwashers, humidifiers/dehumidifiers, toast ovens/toasters, window air conditioners and televisions. The cost is $5 each for appliances with freon and $3 each for all others.

Passenger and light truck tires are $2 each, semi-truck tires are $5 each and tractor/farm equipment tires are $10 each. Add $1 for each tire on a rim. There is a ten tire limit.

Only cash payments will be accepted. The collection day is funded by the Coshoston/Fairfield/Licking/Perry Solid Waste District. For more information call 670- 5125 or visit www.lcounty.com and click on "recycling."
