Max E. Doomy

A funeral service celebrating the life of Max E. Doomy, 73, of Hebron, was March 28, 2008, in the chapel of the Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with Jill Dunlap as celebrant. Private family burial was at a later date.

Max died March 25, 2008, at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus. He was born Jan. 3, 1935, in Basil, the son of the late Charles and Myra Finkbone Doomy.

He was a retired auto mechanic. He enjoyed guns and was a lifetime member of the NRA. He loved listening to piano music, especially Jerry Lee Lewis. He also collected John Deere memorabilia and was a former member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife, the former Carol Appleman, whom he married March 12, 1955; his children, Charles (Pam) Doomy, of Circleville, and Karen (Micah) Zapata, of Vine Grove, Ky.; his grandchildren, Amy Hedgpath, of Dublin, Max Hedgpath, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Charlie Doomy, of Buckeye Lake; several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Sandra Bauchmoyer, of Pittsburg, Kan.; and brother-in-law, Ken Appleman, of Hebron.
