Baltimore looking for businesses to fill vacancies
BALTIMORE - Mayor Bob Kalish is joining with FairfieldCounty Economic Development Director Bill Arnett, the Baltimore Area Chamber of Commerce, the Baltimore Downtown Restoration Committee and Baltimore Community Improvement Corporation to fillempty downtown store fronts.
The group is meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25 in Baltimore council chambers. Each property owner with an empty storefront or officeunit has been asked to provide the square footage available, the type of business they are seeking and their contact information. The owners have already been given a copy of the current zoning regulations that detail the allowable businesses in the downtown business or general business districts.
Each property owner will have an opportunity to make a short presentation. Village Administrator Marsha Hall and Arnett will discuss possible government assistance for prospective tenants.
At least twelve vacant storefronts and officehave been identified.
