Roxie C. Taylor

A memorial service celebrating the life of Roxie C. Taylor, 83, formerly of Hebron, will be at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at Hebron Christian Church, with Pastor Steve Brown as celebrant. Private family burial will be at Hebron Cemetery.

Roxie died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, in Newark, after an extended illness.

She was born March 17, 1924, in Baltimore, the daughter of the late Morris M. and Roberta Boring Hanna. She was a graduate of the Hebron High School class of 1942, had worked for the Byers Automotive dealership in Columbus and retired from the State Teachers Retirement System in 1982. She was an active member of the Hebron and Buckeye Lake Senior Citizens clubs, Hebron Christian Church, and was a 55- year member of American Legion ladies auxiliary of Hebron.

Roxie loved little children, animals and was filled with compassion for others. She truly lived her life to make others happy.

Roxie is survived by her loving family, her husband of 65 years, Harold C Taylor; her sons, Gary (Linda) Taylor, of Clintonville, and Larry (Amber) Taylor, of Dublin; her grandchildren, Laura, Jonathan, Heather and Gina; her five great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Schlafly of Newark; sisters-in-law, Gladys Taylor, of Heath, Claudette Mc- Millen, of Newark, and Evelyn Hanna, of Newark; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends, including lifelong friend, Jo England.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Morris and Paul Hanna, and Pete and Don McMillen.

Her family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church, 612 W. Main St. (U.S. 40) in Hebron.

The family requested that expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial contributions be made to Hebron Christian Church, 612 W. Main St., P.O. Box 736, Hebron, OH 43025, or the Hebron United Methodist Church, 505 E. Main St. Hebron, OH 43025.

The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff of the Heartland Hospice for their expert care, especially nurses Amy Smitylo, Darby Guy, Mary Mavin, Angela Strate and Sherri Mc- Clure, and the Hebron Fire Department/ EMS for its many visits during the past few years.
