Denver E. Richards
Denver E. Richards, 82, passed away at FairfieldMedical Center on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008.
Denver was a proud, lifelong resident of Baltimore. He was a member of the Baltimore United Methodist Church, a World War II and Korean War veteran and a Baltimore Little League Coach. Denver retired after 20 years of working for AT&T and was a carpenter for 25 years prior to that.
Denver is survived by his high school sweetheart, beloved wife and best friend of more than 59 years, Barbara Richards of Baltimore; son, David Richards and his wife, Diane, of Baltimore; daughter, Dendra Ann Stein and her husband, Wiley, of Columbus; grandsons, Dane Richards and Scott Laver; granddaughters, Shawn Holland and Dessi Richards; great-grandchildren, Ian Thompson, Jesica Holland and Emily Holland; brother, Carl Richards and his wife, Sandy, of Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews.
Denver was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mamie Richards; and brother, Dale Richards and his wife, Kate.
A memorial service will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Smith Funeral Home in Baltimore and will be officiated by Pastor Branson Hawkes. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at a later date.
