Ellsworth J. Witherspoon, 92, of Baltimore, passed away on the morning of Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at Crestview Nursing Home.
He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has resided in Baltimore since 1933. He worked for Rockwell International, building airplanes for 19 years, and retired in 1977.
He is survived by his daughter, Naomi Morehart (Bud) of Baltimore; his sons and daughters in-law, Paul Witherspoon of Lancaster, Larry Witherspoon and his wife, Sharon, of Baltimore and Gary Witherspoon and his wife, Nellie, of Eatonville, Wash.; his 13 grandchildren; his many greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his wife of 65 years, Anna L. Witherspoon; his parents, Guy and Myrtle Witherspoon; and brothers, Vernor, Stanley and Maurice Witherspoon.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1071 Sheridan Drive, Lancaster with Bishop Glen Keller officiating. Burial will take place at Floral Hills Memory Gardens following services.
Family and friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home in Baltimore and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
