Richard H. Wolfe Jr.

A celebration of life service for Richard H. Wolfe Jr., 74, formerly of Harbor Hills, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, with Jim Brucker officiating.

Mr. Wolfe passed away Dec. 28, 2007, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born April 28, 1933, in Gahanna, to the late Richard H. and Alberta L. (Emig) Wolfe Sr.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. He was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Harbor Hills Civic Association, the Buckeye Lake Civic Association and the Buckeye Lake Historical Society. He enjoyed playing the piano and sang in the gas company chorus. His favorite hobbies were HO scale model railroading and woodworking, and he loved to spend time fishing and camping with his family.

He retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio in 1991 after 37 years of service as a draftsman and building designer.

He is survived by his loving family, sons, Rod Wolfe and Kirk Wolfe, both of Nashport; daughter, Joy (Lew) Hildreth, of Hebron; brother, Elwood (Mary) Wolfe, of Gahanna; sister, Carole (Tom) Corder, of Zanesville; three granddaughters, Andrea Wolfe, Jenny (Wolfe) Clem and Paige Wolfe; great-granddaughter, Calista Clem; sister-in-law, Mildred (Dick) Warren, of Somerset, Pa.; two aunts; an uncle; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Alice Jean (Shreffler) Wolfe, who passed away in 1992.
