Licking Memorial expands cardiac care

NEWARK - Licking Memorial Hospital (LMH) is expanding heart care services to include primary and elective balloon angioplasty and stent insertion.

A professional team, combining experience, technology and compassion, will work together with patients, families and referring physicians to deliver cardiac services locally using the latest in heart imaging techniques and early detection. Our professional team includes highly skilled and experienced cardiologists, cardiac nurses, registered radiology technologists and allied health professionals

LMH currently offers prevention and education, screening, diagnosis and treatment, as well as follow-up heart care with Cardiologists Debra Heldman, M.D. and Bryce Morrice, M.D. Full-service coronary care for acute (emergency) problems is already in place at LMH, and a low-risk diagnostic catheterization laboratory has been operational for the past 15 years. LMH established a county-wide team approach for emergency heart care in late 2006 by installing a 12-Lead EKG program connecting Licking County squads with the Hospital Emergency Department. LMH has gained accreditation for its Chest Pain Program, Echo Laboratory and Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

LMH has contracted with OhioHealth's Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus to provide program development at Licking Memorial to offer expanded services for Licking County residents.
