Arnold W. Lamp
A memorial service for Arnold W. Lamp, 90, of Sebring, Fla., and late of Granville, was November 28, 2007, at Hebron United Methodist Church, with Pastor Penny Drenton presiding. Inurnment will be at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg, at a later date.
Mr. Lamp, co-founder of Strait and Lamp Lumber Co. in Hebron, passed away November 21, 2007, at Kendal at Granville. He was born April 15, 1917, in Franklin County to his late parents Arthur and Mabel (Carson) Lamp.
Mr. Lamp was a lifelong member of Hebron United Methodist Church and attended St. John United Methodist Church in Sebring for many years. He was a Army veteran of WWII; life member of F.& A.M. No. 116, Hebron; Aladdin Shrine, Columbus, and Highland Shrine Club of Sebring; American Legion, Hebron; Foremember of I.O.O.F.; an avid golfer and member of Sebring Municipal Golf Club, Florida, and Elks Lodge No. 1529.
Arnold is survived by his son Jeffrey and wife, Barbara, of Granville; son-in-law Jerry Helser, of Hebron; daughter-inlaw Judith Lamp, of Delaware; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brothers James Lamp, of Hebron, and Robert Lamp, of Thornville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lamp was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Martha; daughter, Louise Helser; and son, Captain Arnold W. Lamp Jr.
