Evelyn Iota Griffith

A funeral service celebrating the life of Evelyn Iota Griffith,91, of Hebron, was held November 24, 2007, in the Hebron United Methodist Church with Pastor Penny Drenten, officiating. Burial followed at Glen Rest Memorial Park, Reynoldsburg.

Iota died suddenly Sunday, November 18, 2007 in Georgia. She was born in Hebron on April 9, 1916, the daughter of the late Roy E and Myrtle Mae Clark Baugher.

She was a graduate of Hebron High School, Class of 1934. She had worked for Park National Bank, Hebron branch for 27 years. An active member of the Hebron United Methodist Church, she had served as church treasurer for years. Iota was a volunteer at Licking Memorial Hospital for 20 years, retiring at age 90. She was a 73 year member of Eagon Chapter #123, Order of Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron in 1969 and had been a star point officerfor many years. She was also an active member of the 55+ club of Hebron, where she had been president for several years. She was also active in the Hebron Historical Society.

Her husband, William Lee Griffith,preceded her in death on July 2, 1966; and a son, William Roy Griffith on December 1, 1993.

She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Sherry (Ed) Davis of Cumming, Georgia; her grandchildren Kristen (Joshua) Mason of Cumming, Ga. and Wendy (Mark) Chelette of Wimberly, Texas; and her great-grandson, Zakary Mason. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Wendell Baugher and a sister, Floy Camille Baugher.
