'Tips for Tots' supporters thanked

Editor:

I read somewhere that Audrey Hepburn wrote this poem which was later read at her funeral. Who knows if it's true, but they are wise words at any rate. What better time then the holidays to share it?

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness...

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people...

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry...

For beautiful hair, let a child run his/ her fingers through it once a day...

For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone...

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed;

Never throw out anyone.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will findone at the end of each of your arms.

As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.

As my last Letter to the Editor as an Ohio citizen, I wanted them to positive.

Thank God for Dave and Sandy then Bev and Eddie Hulls for the past "Tips for Tots" fundraising events. This year I want to thank Bud and Marty Springer for stepping up to the plate to raise funds for "Tips for Tots" Until you have chaired an event like this you can't have near the respect for what it takes in effort, heart, hope and hard work to make it successful…and it was!

Today everyone is struggling to make ends meet. Again and again people get asked for money for everything under the sun. It's amazing to me that you never disappoint the hand and have the compassion to give.

Again I think "Tips for Tots" is the most important event of the year in this area. When you think about it, but (please not too hard) when I ask for money for BLASST it gets blown up in about 20 minutes, but it's an American patriotic tradition. It's an ambivalent event really with celebration of our nation on one side and the loss of our brave on the other. When you give money to less fortunate helpless American children it could just be a pivotal point is one of their lives.

So thank you to all the folks who gave and in all the ways there was to give. You made Bud and Marty's group effort worthwhile. You made all three couples very proud to have had the privilege of serving our area. Taking care of our own (our neighbors) is always a positive thing.

Happy Holidays to the giving people reading this letter.

Florida bound…see you in the spring!
