Raymond E. Davis

Raymond E. Davis, 81, of Baltimore, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Pickering House.

He retired from Crown-Zellerbach Corp. after 30 years of service and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, Baltimore VFW Post No. 3761 and the Baltimore Senior Citizens. He was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy L. Davis; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Dan Dotson of Baltimore, Nancy Fangman and Ed Green of Amanda, and Anna and Richard Beller of Ashville; sons and daughters-in-law, James "Jim" and Marilyn Davis of Baltimore and Jerry and Lisa Davis of Baltimore; nine grandchildren, Shelley (Chris) Barr, Robert Davis and Kelly Osgood, Ryan (Sarah) Carpenter, Mike (Beth) Carpenter, Wendy (Jerry) Burnett, Jennifer Carpenter and fiancé Jarrod Smith, Jeremy Davis, Jared Davis and Lyndsey Davis; fivegreat-grandchildren, James and Daniel Burnett, Brandon and Devon Carpenter and Hannah Carpenter; brothers, Wayne Davis of Whitehall and Ralph (Joyce) Davis of Canal Winchester; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Eugene Davis; parents, William H. and Ruth L. Davis; and brother, William Davis.

Services were November 12, 2007, at Johnson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Baltimore, with the Rev. Barbara Murray officiating. Burial followed in Union Evangelical Cemetery, Baltimore, where the Baltimore VFW Post 3761 conducted military graveside services.

Memorials may be given to Pickering House in Raymond's memory.
