John Frederick Busse
Services for John Frederick Busse, 69, of Thornville, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset, with Pastor Doug Lynn officiating. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery.
John died Sunday evening, Nov. 4, 2007, at his home surrounded by loved ones, including his beloved dog, Whitney, after a long illness. He is at rest with his parents, Clayton Andrew and Alma E. Collavo Busse.
John was a 1957 graduate of New Lexington High School, where he was class president. He was owner/operator of the Somerset Cut Stone and Quarry since 1969, as well as owner of Busse Stables and The Midway Restaurant. He was a member of the Thornville Moose, Farm Bureau, United States Trotters Association and a former member of Sons of the American Legion.
John is survived by his wife, Pamela "Sue" Busse; and his sister, Patricia Busse (James) Palermo.
He left a legacy in his children, Bret (Susan) Busse, Chanda Busse, Melissa Stickle, Amanda (Brian) Crabtree, Clayton David (Heidi) Busse, and Sue's daughters, Jodi Shiplett (John Russell) and Jill (Ed) Davisson; many grandchildren, Tim and Dan Busse, Samantha Stickle, Rutger and Dieter Schulte-Hordelhoff, Kenda Busse, Tyler, Trevor and Trey Davisson, and Jordan and Kaytlynn Shiplett; and one aunt, Irene Matway, of Pennsylvania.
