Residents urged to comment on Roshon PUD extension request

Editor:

Please come to the meeting and let our voice be heard. The Roshon PUD has asked for a second extension from Fairfield County Regional Planning Commission (RPC). The meeting will be held at the FairfieldCounty Courthouse, Commissioner's Hearing Room, Third Floor, 210 East Main St, Lancaster, OH on (Election Day) November 6, 2007, at 7:30 PM. The initial preliminary plat approval was for a period of two years before a final plat. Then as stated on FairfieldCounty Subdivision Regulations, "The final plat shall be filed with the Regional Planning Commission no later than twenty-four (24) months after the date of approval of the preliminary plan."

Then the RPC Director granted an extension for a period of one year, December 2006. However, the RPC must grant further approvals and the Subdivision Regulations Committee currently recommends an approval of the 1-year extension to the RPC. This time the RPC should know that the preliminary plat they approved originally is significantlydifferent from the final plat that was approved by the township, as has been given them in a letter earlier this year. Thus they should not grant the extension, as it may be a violation of the terms of the preliminary approval.

Let your voice be heard on November 6 at the RPC meeting and maybe they will correct this mistake. For more information please contact FairfieldCounty Regional Planning Commission officeby calling (740) 687-7110. The officeis located in Room 104 of the FairfieldCounty Courthouse, 210 East Main Street, Lancaster, OH 43130. It's OfficeHours: Mon-Fri; 8 A.M. to 4 P.M.
